BRAD: COURIER MAIL ENDORSES RUDD
Friday, November 23rd, 2007
Wow this is weird, I didn’t even know newspapers did this. Let alone should do this.
Shouldn’t newspapers be impartial? Offering the facts or at least an even spread of opinion and stories? One singular blanker endorsement of one party and candidate doesn’t feel right. It seems counter to the spirit of true journalism.
Then I always was a naive bleeding heart.
But hey it will certainly be great for Kevin Rudd and Labor. So I won’t complain.
Courier Mail: We stand behind a man of our state and our times
He deserves the public’s support. And he has the support of The Courier-Mail, only the second endorsement we have given federal Labor since the newspaper was established 74 years ago.
Courier Mail: We stand behind a man of our state and our times
This ringing endorsement will certainly have significant positive benefits for the Rudd/Labor campaign in the key battle ground of Queensland. Labor desperately needs to win Queensland seats and they need a big big swing to pull it off.
The endorsement will certainly start a cascade of Rudd signature high 5s, gaped mouth laughter and pointing to colleagues at Labor HQ.
It has been great few days for Labor and they would be hoping this good luck can hold over to Sunday.
Some other good news was the excellent sleuthing by ALP members in the Sydney electorate of Lindsay. It was a well orchestrated midnight bust catching the Liberals out red handed. Complete with pictures of the offenders with the offensive material.
It was work Today Tonight would be proud of.

Nielsen or Galaxy who do you believe?
A Nielsen predicted Labor annihilation of the Coalition. (57-43 TTP)
Or
Or Galaxy with a painful tooth and nail battle between Howard and Rudd (52-48 TTP)
The answer probably lays somewhere between the two, although I will continue to fantasise at length and in depth about a 57-43 TTP translating to a storming Labor Party victory which the memories and video tapes of can restore my flagging self esteem for years to come on those lonely Friday and Saturday nights at home.
