Mr Rudd 65%

John Howard 29%

Undecided 6%

THE WORM HAS SPOKEN!!!

Well that was great television and it was a decisive victory to Kevin Rudd over John Howard. It doesn’t surprise me that Yak and Sheldon, our two resident conservative rodents have scurried down their little burrows after that thrashing. If Kevin lost you could expect two long winded analysis’ on the site.

Kevin Rudd’s Pro-Worm policies of the last week have reaped dividends and he was certainly a friend of the worm tonight, with his popularity nearly breaking the stratosphere and it was funny to see it flat line when Howard was on the box.

Honestly I thought the debate really missed a lot of critical points that are important to the electorate, such as housing affordability, education and hospitals, with are also Labor strong points. One of the highlights was seeing the camera switch to Captain Smirk aka Peter Costello in the audience during the debate complete with cheesy grin and goofy laugh. He cracks me up.

My dirty secret is that I actually find Captain Smirk entertaining at times. I am still trying to work out if I am laughing with him or at him…

I’ve just watched the debate and about another hours analysis including NINE’s short and sweet popcornanalysis so I’m just about analysised out. Is that even how you spell it? So I won’t dwell on it too much.

I think this will give Kevin a lot of momentum in the 2nd week of campaigning it tomorrow’s papers as well as upcoming opinion polls will be interesting reading.

One off screen controversy was NINE’s broadcast feed being cut, possibly as Ray Martin says as an act of sabotage as the NINE network used the worm even though they were told not to. As a result they had to use SKY NEW’s feed and super impose their worm over the top.

But I’m glad the worm was used, I got 90mins of laughter seeing Kevin’s white, clean, fresh and young worm maxed out and John Howard’s red worm rolling around in its death throes in the bottom half of the graph.

I have to admit I was very nervous before the debate, more nervous than 5 complete State of Origin series and three NRL Grand Finals combined. My heart was in my mouth, it was up to Kevin and I felt sorry for him to have to carry such an intense burden, but he didn’t let us down! He performed gloriously.

It was an absolute acid test for Kevin and the Labor campaign and the result should prove a significant boost in week two of Election 2007. I also think Labor can dissect the result as well as commentary and polish and hone their policies and tactics in the coming weeks.

Well done Kevin!

I also saw contrastly differences in the men with their closing comments. Kevin’s was about the future and Howard’s was about the past.

Well apparently sources tell me that Sheldon is back in Brisbane…

Well welcome back Smelldon, the debate results are my gift to you.

But it will be good to have him back, it hasn’t been the same without him, it just isn’t the Donkey Vote without the ass. I look forward to sharing and commentating the next five weeks of Election 2007 with Sheldon and enjoy an event we both get intense interest and excitement over.

I hope we can sit down and talk about some new features and projects we can do for The Donkey Vote. I also think after a week on the sidelines he will be eager to participate once again, probably to the point where we can’t shut him up.

I know Sheldon is upset the Liberal Party hijacked his concept for bingo cards based on Kevin Rudd’s speech patterns and mannerisms.

I have to say after Johnny have a cry telling Kevin to “GROW UP MR RUDD!”I find it pretty hypocritical for him to endorse childish, unoriginal and pathetic games and gimmicks on his official website and his campaign advertisements (His YouTube reply to Kevin’s anti anti Unions assault). Childish, unoriginal and pathetic gimmicks and games are job description.

Well I look forward to seeing Sheldon and Yak try and salvage something from the decimated wreckage of yet another John Howard debate defeat.

They will probably claim they didn’t watch it for some really credible reason.

Meanwhile while I watch a replay of the debate on SKY NEWS I have to knick off from TDV and work on some assignments and study….

Because while Kevin Rudd is mounting his “Education Revolution” campaign, I am mounting my “Education Resuscitation” campaign.
