Sheldon: Time to get things cooking..
Monday, October 1st, 2007
Well since Brad has done all the hard tech work on the site (for a change), it’s time for me to join in the fun.
My name is Sheldon and I’ll try not to go over the same ground that Brad has already. I will say that I believe the idea for this website came from me. Then again, it’s very typical Labor Party mentality to take the credit of other people’s hard work, I suppose.
Also, while Brad is a fanatic Labor Party supporter, spouting the usual cliches and slogans (and believe me, he really talks like that in real life too), I am more a realist which to Brad means that I’m a Liberal supporter. But regardless, you’ll see my general political philosophy in my posts. Brad and I do tend to be opposed to many issues… don’t tell him, but it’s mainly just to bug him.
But to stop bashing Brad for a second… I love my elections. In the past I’ve driven my family nuts by insisting on watching the live election coverage and watching the trends after 0.0001% of the vote counted. I would have been the only person in Queensland to watch the last live state election coverage considering that everyone knew the result three weeks before the election was called. I also have a major in Political Science so you’ll see some finely honed academic research and writing in action. And I use big words.
Election coverage on the internet has gone from strength to strength since the last federal election and, if nothing else, we are people willing to exploit this interest. And have a few laughs.
Which is what I think the last federal election missed, some quality comedy from some quality comedians. Sure it’s easy to make fun of John Howard’s ticks or Kevin Rudd’s head bobbing but here on the Donkey we’re cleverer than that. Well at least until we run out of material and then anything could happen.
But sit down, keep your fingers on the reload button and let us entertain you for the long haul!
